Lola's Lust List

{Fall Leopard Lust}

Leopard is everywhere this fall but it can be tricky to pull off.  One super simple way to wear it is as a statement piece in an otherwise plain ensemble.  I love the look of leopard ankle booties with some rolled boyfriend jeans and a plain white tee.  Or add some punch to an all black outfit with a leopard tote or scarf.   If you're more daring, mix it with another print- just not another animal print- like a striped tee with your leopard scarf or throw a floral scarf over that plain tee and boyfriend jeans with leopard booties.  I plan to try all of the above this season, the possiblities are endless!

Here are my top leopard lust items:

1. A pair of leopard ankle booties.

Rock & Republic Angie Bootie

2.  A leopard scarf.

Kashmere camel leopard printed cashmere scarf

3.  A leopard tote.

PRADA Large Cavalino Tote

4.  A leopard coat.

Leopard-print velvet coat

Are you incorporating leopard into your fall wardrobe?  How?

{Christian Siriano Lust}

<p>LOOOOOOOVING Christian Siriano's Spring 2011 RTW collection!  Love love love, there is no other word, I just love it!  Super crisp bright whites and creamy camel-colored leather were my fave parts, but there were some interesting McQueen-esque (or was it just me?) reptile prints and some extravagantly ruffled gowns that were quite beautiful as well.  A few of my faves...
Could these whites be any brighter and crisper?

{Sartorially Restless}

<p>Today I need to vent!  I am feeling sartorially restless and frustrated.  I am new to this blogging thing, having only recently discovered what blogs are all about and how many delightful, amazing and inspiring ones there are out there.  And I'm still discovering new ones every day.  But my problem is that I love all the ideas and different interpretations of trends and I am inspired by them and want to amp up my wardrobe and re-mix my closet but where I live and work I don't feel like I can push the envelope as much as I would like to.  Most trends take so much longer to trickle down to my city and my inner fashion goddess feels stiffled.  It is very frustrating.  Plus I work in a pretty casual office- esp in the hot summer, everyone is in cargo capris, tees and flip flops so while I do work with some very stylish women, I think we all have been fashionably lazy lately and it is dragging me down.  So I feel like I am stuck in this casual style rut and I need a kick in the butt to get out!!!!
Ugh, I can't even find a good photo to go with this post!

Farmer's Market Photo Tour

<p>I don't know if I've mentioned yet, but I am a total foodie!  I recently found this recipe on one of my fave blogs, poppytalk and have been dying to try it, I LOVE garlic!!  Too impatient to grow my own garlic right now, I've been meaning to visit the Downtown Phoenix Public Market, a farmers market featuring lots of local farms, artists, breadmakers, etc.  They even have a local honey & handmade pasta vendors.  Anyway I finally got to go this weekend and took some photos...  Enjoy!
So how yummy does all this fresh produce look?!?!  And the herbs?  Um I think I paid almost $2 for about half this amount at Sprouts last week, I mean these baggies are stuffed full!  And the peaches?  AMA-zing!!  There is this tea and coffee vendor that had the most wonderful fresh lemonade!  Ugh, I can't even say enough about this place, next time I have got to get a bag of that fresh homemade pasta!  If you live in or around Phoenix, this is a MUST visit!

{Blog Crush!}

<p>So I find myself stuck with a major blog-crush, is there such a thing?  Being new to this blog world, I am constantly discovering new blogs that I love and need to follow but I found one that I have a major crush on!  Are you ready?  Its called cupcakes and cashmere and it is run by the gorgeous, confident, and talented Emily.  My fave posts are her outfit posts, I could spend hours poring over every look (in fact, that is what I did all morning yesterday, heehee) she always looks so put together and edgy but effortless at the same time.  LOVE!!!!!!  I also love how she mixes vintage and designer pieces with budget-friendly pieces from F21 and H&M, etc.  And she has the best photog/boyfriend, he gets some really amazing shots.
There are some trends that I will admit I hated at first but Emily is totally making me a convert!  Some examples:
I hated open-toe booties (what is the point- too hot in summer, not warm enough in winter!?!?!)  But I LOVE these wedge-oxford ones!
I found some similar ones at Steve Madden:
I also hated the jumpsuit trend (although, I do have to admit, I started to convert a couple weeks ago when Gretchen won the Project Runway challenge with her black jumpsuit, that one was to DIE for!)
But here she converts me on the jumpsuit and again with the shoes!
And a sequined blazer?  I always thought was way too over the top but I love it here (and I also need these booties really really badly!):
So those are just a few of my fave outfits from cupcakes and cashmere, Emily also has makeup tutorials and tons of tasty looking recipes.  Be sure to check her out!
Who are your blog crushes?

{Nautical Wanderlust}

"There is no thrill in easy sailing
When the skies are clear and blue.
No joy in merely doing
Things which any one can do.
But there is some satisfaction
That is mighty sweet to take,
When you reach a destination
That you never thought you'd make."

{Lola's Autumn Lust List}

<p>Fall is in the air...at least in my head it is.  We won't see any signs of Fall around here for another couple months.  It stays hot here through October almost and many would say we don't even have a Fall.  But I still love the spirit of Autumn, it's probably my fave season!  I am so ready to bust out the boots and sweaters and cool-weather clothes!  So in the spirit of the upcoming season, I went back over my fave Fall 2010 RTW runway shows.  Here are my highlights, aka, Lola's Autummn Lust List:
